How To Become A DCP member

Step-by-step guide to help you register as a DEK member

Step 1: Resign from Your Current Political Party (if applicable)

Option A: Using the USSD Code

  1. Dial *509# on your mobile phone.
  2. If you are a first-time user, follow the prompts to register by entering your ID number and first name as they appear on your national ID.
  3. You’ll receive an ORPP PIN via SMS.
  4. Dial *509# again and enter your PIN.
  5. Select option 1: “Membership”.
  6. Choose Option 3: “Resign” to formally leave your current party.
  7. Confirm your details to complete the resignation process.

Option B: The ORPP Portal

  1. Visit the Integrated Political Parties Management System (IPPMS) at https://ippms.orpp.or.ke or log in through eCitizen.
  2. Register or log in using your ID number and first name.
  3. Navigate to “Membership Resignation” under your account tab.
  4. Confirm your resignation by following the on-screen prompts and entering the OTP sent to your phone.
  5. Check your registration status to ensure you are no longer affiliated with any party.

Step 2: Register as a Member of DEK

Option A: Using the USSD Code

  1. Dial *509# again.
  2. Enter your ORPP PIN.
  3. Select option 1: “Membership.”
  4. Choose the option 2: “Join a party.”
  5. Enter the party name: DEK.
  6. Enter the party code: _.
  7. Provide your county, constituency, and ward codes as prompted.
  8. Confirm your details to complete your registration as a DEK member.

Option B: Online via the ORPP Portal

  1. Log in to the IPPMS portal (https://ippms.orpp.or.ke) or login via your eCitizen account.
  2. Go to the “Join a Party” section.
  3. Select “DEMOCRATIC DEVELOPMENT PARTY OF KENYA” from the list.
  4. Fill in your details and submit your application.
  5. Wait for confirmation from the party, your membership will be updated once approved.

Requirements for Mobile Registration

✅ Every member must use their own Mobile Phone.
✅ The registration process works on both Safaricom and Airtel networks.
